Call For Participants: AOM PDW on Teaching Analytics Courses

We invite you to join us for a PDW on teaching analytics courses (please see below for a survey we request you complete).

PDW Title: Teaching at the Intersection of Organizations and Analytics
Sponsors: STR, TIM, OSCM, MED, ENT
    Date/Time: August 11, 12:15pm-2:45pm
Place: Swissôtel Chicago, St. Gallen 3

The last few years have seen a proliferation of analytics classes and programs at management schools (see https://on.ft.com/2II1iuI). This increase has partly been a response to the increased awareness of managers that members at all levels and in all areas of the organization stand to benefit from having some kind of analytics training. This PDW is an effort to provide a first-step towards creating a conversation about the specific relevance of organizations faculty for teaching around analytics, by identifying the types of analytics course offerings and providing educators with an opportunity to share course principles and content in support of their efforts.

The PDW will include both presentations and Q&A with faculty who have experience in teaching different types of analytics classes in business schools, as well as small group idea exchange to brainstorm possible courses, topics, approaches, and tools that could be used to further the teaching of analytics. No advanced preparation is required.

The PDW is designed to be accessible to people already teaching analytics classes, those considering the needs for such classes, or those who are simply interested in the topic as a potential avenue for the future. As data analytics is a trend that cuts across AOM divisions, we hope to establish a community of educators who are focused on this subject area.
