The Annual MED’s consortium at AOM (offered exclusively in-person this year), facilitates the professional development of junior faculty (5 years or less since the first faculty position) and doctoral students who are aiming for a successful faculty career and is OPEN to all AOM attendees across all divisions! Given MED’s interdisciplinary membership, our consortium is offered in a unique way so as to allow the participants to come up with a customizable bundle that addresses their teacher-scholar needs. Additionally, you do not have to dedicate a full day to attend a live consortium. On successful completion, participants are also awarded a certificate from MED-AOM!
To successfully participate in the consortium, participants will meet the following requirements:
- Consortium participants will choose to attend THREE professional development workshops (PDWs) from a select list of PDWs being offered by MED at this year’s meeting. These workshops focus on a wide-range of topics relevant for professional development of emerging teacher-scholars (the list to be shared soon).
- Attendees will also participate in TWO bookend events (pre and post) which include a Friday evening (August 5 between 6:00pm-7:00pm) introductory welcome/mixer and a Monday morning (August 8 between 8:00pm-9:00am) breakfast. The goal is to provide participants with a platform to network, create a community, and reflect on their learning.
