Develop leadership courses for innovative executive education
Join a Business School ranked in top 1% of world
The University of Canterbury (New Zealand) celebrates people prepared to make a difference: tangata tū, tangata ora
Its mission is to contribute to society through knowledge in chosen areas of endeavour by promoting a world-class learning environment, known for attracting people with the greatest potential to make a difference.
The UC Business School is in the top one per cent of business schools in the world, as evidenced by its "triple-crown" accreditation by AACSB International, AMBA and EQUIS. The Department of Management, Marketing and Entrepreneurship within the School is seeking to appoint a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer or Associate Professor with expertise in leadership, preferably studying the impact of digital advancement on organisations. This position has arisen as a response to the challenge's leaders face in transforming their organisations to meet the demands of the 4th industrial revolution, disruption and the future of work.
In 2020 the new executive education programmes/MBA will be launched by UC Business School, with an emphasis on digital technologies that drive organisational success. In your academic position, your primary focuses will be to pursue purpose-driven research and engagement with industry, teach into executive programmes such as the MBA as well as infusing a common theme of leadership/digital leadership throughout other courses within the Business School. This will be a truly rewarding position with an applied leadership focus, where you will help develop future entrepreneurs, innovators, changemakers, and industry professionals.
Holding a relevant PhD or equivalent research experience, you will demonstrate excellence in research in the discipline of leadership/digital leadership gained either through previous academic positions or senior level industry/professional career experience.
You will hold an excellent record of international scholarly achievement in a relevant area of leadership, combined with a demonstrated active research agenda and a record of successful engagement with industry. A passion for excellence in teaching and research, a strong commitment to bi-culturalism, combined with a keen interest in creating an outstanding student experience and desire to make a difference will be key for success in this role.
