    Apologies for cross-posting.

    Dear colleagues,

We would like to invite you to the PDW (#11474) Cultural Intelligence: Capabilities in Crossing Cultures & Working in Diverse, Inclusive Teams (Sponsors: IM, AAT, OB, HR, MED). This workshop brings cultural intelligence (CQ) scholars together to share leading edge research and tools for assessing and developing CQ in individuals and teams.

Part I (60 mins) is a panel discussion facilitated by Soon Ang (Nanyang Technological University, Singapore) and Linn Van Dyne (Michigan State University). Panel members are CQ experts from different parts of the world:

    • Thomas Rockstuhl (Nanyang Technological University, Singapore); on using innovative multi-media situational judgment tests and virtual platforms for developing CQ in study abroad
    • Linn Van Dyne (Michigan State University); on using blended learning to develop CQ based on individual interactive e-learning modules and face-to-face experiential learning
    • Xiao-Ping Chen (University of Washington); on using icEdge, a novel online tool for measuring context dependent communication, to increase team member's awareness of their own and other's communication style
    • Jana Raver (Queen's University); on using "pain points" in global virtual teams to trigger the development of CQ in individuals and teams
    • Tina Davidson (Erasmus University); on using individual and team-level CQ learning processes to enhance multicultural team effectiveness over time
    • Nicole Richter (University of Southern Denmark); on using CQ dispersion within global virtual teams to facilitate communication processes and team performance.

Part II (30 mins) is break-out round table discussions where participants can interact with each other and with panellists to discuss best practices for using these innovative approaches in their research, teaching, and practical application to foster culturally intelligent individuals and inclusive multicultural teams. These discussions should strengthen the CQ community and provide a network for ongoing idea sharing.

This session will take place at Hilton Boston Back Bay Room: Westminister on Saturday, Aug 10, 2019, 9:45AM – 11:15AM. Registration for this PDW is not required.

Please direct enquiries to Soon Ang (asang@ntu.edu.sg) and Linn Van Dyne (vandyne@msu.edu).

    Thank you,
