Hello,
I have been a long-time member of MED and as of July 1, I "retired" to
Professor Emeritus of Management. My colleagues and I have been publishing on employee-owned companies that have a high-involvement culture with an emphasis on innovation. To shorten that explanation, we coined the term shared entrepreneurship and defined it as "
An ethical, dynamic, empowering, freedom-based process where (1) everyone is encouraged
to share innovative ideas (2) then supported with appropriate resources to develop the ideas and (3) enabled to share in the rewards of success." So far we have published the following articles on this subject this year:
1. Roche, O., Freundlich, F., Shipper, F., & Manz, C. C. (2018). "Mondragon's Amorphous Network Structure: 'Making the whole truly greater than the sum of its parts.'"

I started teaching about shared entrepreneurship over 40 years ago. At that time, the only case study available for this topic was about Lincoln Electric. About 30 years ago, I was lucky enough to meet people from W. L. Gore & Associates and wrote a case study about it. Things took off from there. I liked teaching about such companies and students like learning about such companies.
If you have never taught about such companies, as an old advertising slogan said, "Try it, you might like it." If your students are like mine, they will.
I started my career looking for a profession and found an avocation. I wish you all success.
