    Call for Presenters

PDW:  Harnessing the Power of YouTube in Management Courses

Would you like your students to be more engaged in class?  Would you like your students to learn more material?  Then harness the power of YouTube in your management courses.

The benefits of using YouTube include: students retaining more material, learning topics more quickly, seeing real-world applications, appealing to visual learners, and being more enthusiastic about management concepts.

YouTube is one of the most powerful web applications on the Internet with billions of videos and new content pouring in daily.  More than just an entertainment portal, YouTube is a research, presentation, and education tool that can be used easily and effectively to enhance learning in your management courses.  In addition, YouTube is free, which is especially important in the age of rapidly dwindling institutional budgets.

This PDW will demonstrate effective ways to harness the power of YouTube in the management classroom in six main areas:

    1. Flipped instruction
    2. Supplemental information
    3. Self-directed learning
    4. Classroom enhancers
    5. Student-made videos
    6. Faculty-created videos

Videos can be about any management topic area, such as inclusive organizations.

Worried about a YouTube video not being there when you need it for class?  This PDW will also show you how to download and save YouTube videos so you can be confident that a desired video will be available when you need it for your management classroom.

We are looking for additional presenters for this PDW.   Email us if you have a great example of using YouTube in management courses and you want to share it with members of the Academy.

    Thank you,

    Jeff
