    The School of Administrative Studies, Faculty of Liberal Arts & Professional Studies, York University, invites applications from qualified candidates for a tenure-track Teaching Stream position at the rank of Assistant Professor, to commence July 1st 2020. The position will be for an expert in first year experience and teaching within the Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) program. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. All York University positions are subject to budgetary approval.

    A PhD (or DBA) in Management, Business, or closely related field is required. Candidates must show excellence or promise of excellence in teaching and service. Given the School's commitment to teaching excellence, discipline-based (applied and theoretical) and pedagogy-based research are equally valued. Applicants with demonstrated ability to design and deliver high-quality, impactful educational experiences at the undergraduate level are strongly preferred. This includes experience in such areas as curriculum development, pedagogical innovation, multi-media teaching, adult learning, and teaching large classes. Demonstrated ability working with teaching assistants is an asset.

    The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching courses at the first-year level as well as contributing to curricular and pedagogical development in the School across the undergraduate program. This includes development of initiatives that promote student engagement with university-based programs, facilities and services, to advance standards of excellence and student success in the BCom program. Individuals with a history of professional activity in the community, student advising and mentoring, and internship/co-op education are especially encouraged to apply.
