    Hi,

I'm writing to bring awareness to two virtual events, one for business undergraduate students and one for faculty.

    1. For students: Royal Roads Design Thinking Challenge -- This online event is focused on using design thinking to promote civic good. It is a student competition with $10,000 in prizes, but more importantly, it is an educational event. Judges act as mentors, who help students develop design thinking skills. We limit the event to 12 teams, so that each team can receive meaningful feedback at each step of the process. The live event is March 4-7, 2022. (Round 1, which happens asynchronously happens Jan 31-Feb 28). All details here: https://royalroadsdesignthinkingchallenge.ca

    2. For faculty: Royal Roads Educators' Conference -- This one-day online conference is an opportunity for anyone using design thinking (DT) in the classroom or workplace, or engaging in DT research, to share ideas, tools, and resources, and to connect with others who are also engaging in DT. The conference is aimed at both academics and practitioners.

Please consider submitting a proposal. We are running sessions in a variety of formats, some 50 minutes long, and others just 20 minutes. Our goal is for every session to be interactive and practical – and to help people connect with others exploring the same DT-related questions they are interested in, or who are maybe facing similar challenges applying DT. The proposal submission process is very straightforward and does not require a lengthy abstract. The deadline for proposals is October 15, 2021.

If you don't want to present, or if you're curious about design thinking, please consider registering to attend. Attendees will expand their DT network and benefit from the experience of other educators and practitioners.
