Job opening in Online Business Education @ The University of Queensland, Brisbane

UQ Business School is looking to attract a talented academic who can provide leadership within our core online education activities, and contribute to their ongoing development, delivery, evaluation, and innovation.

Currently, UQ Business School administers two edX MOOCs (Massive Open Online Courses) in Tourism Management and Market Segmentation Analysis, as well as two "MicroMasters" programs – in Business Leadership, and Corporate Innovation
    – each involving four MOOCs and a credit-granting assessment module. We are also in the process of developing two online Master's Degree programs in Data Analytics, and Leadership in Service Innovation, the first fully-online programs offered at UQ. Our active Executive Education program also offers blended programs that combine online content with face-to-face facilitation.

The successful candidate will be partly responsible for online course coordination as their substantive teaching and service contribution. Thus, we are particularly interested in applicants who have expertise or experience in one or more of these topic areas, and in business education more broadly. The successful candidate will join the Management Discipline, which has diverse backgrounds in organisational behaviour, human resources, organisational studies, communications, leadership, and management education. However, strong candidates with research interests in other disciplinary areas of the school (e.g., innovation or information systems) are also encouraged to apply, and will have the opportunity to change their disciplinary membership to suit their core research interests.

Depending on the applicant profile, appointments may be made as "teaching and research" (T&R) where teaching is balanced with an equivalent level of research activity; or as "teaching focused" (TF) where research is largely focused on scholarship of teaching and learning (SoTL) and typically comprises a smaller proportion of their workload compared to a traditional T&R academic role.

This is a full-time, continuing position at academic level Lecturer or Senior Lecturer.  For US applicants, please note that Australian Universities use British terminology; as such, a Lecturer position is equivalent to that of an Assistant Professor position in the US.

The University of Queensland Business School is independently ranked as one of the top business schools in Australia and among the leading institutions worldwide. Our mission is to cultivate courageous thinkers who empower future leaders to positively transform business and society.  Based at the St Lucia campus as part of the Faculty of Business, Economics and Law, the School brings together 12,000 students and 200 subject experts.

This position is located at our picturesque St Lucia campus, renowned as one of Australia's most attractive university campuses, and located just 7km from Brisbane's city centre. Bounded by the Brisbane River on three sides, and with outstanding public transport connections, our 114-hectare site provides a perfect work environment – you can enjoy the best of both worlds: a vibrant campus with the tradition of an established university.  Brisbane is one of the most affordable cities in Australia. It boasts over 250 days of sunshine per year, with a safe, friendly, and multicultural environment.

This is part of a larger academic recruitment campaign at UQ Business School.  We are currently recruiting for over 20 continuing academic positions across all disciplines. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to join a vibrant and growing cohort of early-career researchers and educators.

This is a fantastic opportunity for energetic and innovative academics who are passionate about the future of business education.

For interested applicants attending the Academy of Management Conference in Boston, you are welcome to attend the University of Queensland Reception to ask questions and meet our current academic staff: 7:30pm–10:30pm on Saturday 10 Aug, @ Icon Nightclub (100 Warrenton St). .
