  • 1.  Adult Learning Theories Course redesign

    Posted 02-05-2020 19:07

    Colleagues:
I am about to embark on a course redesign for "Adult Learning" a core Masters level course in our Human Resources Development curriculum. If you have created a similar course and are willing to share - your syllabus, texts, materials, video, content, assignments, classroom & virtual delivery - I would much appreciate it.  I want this redesign to prepare students for applying learning andragogy in a range of organizations for the coming decade.

I look forward to your information (and will create a collection of the suggestions that I will share with all who respond).

    Best,

    Kathy

I think that the following videos by Stephen Chew (Psychology Professor from Samford University) may be of help, Kathy:

https://youtu.be/htv6eap1-_M -Introduction / summary of the 5-video series

https://youtu.be/RH95h36NChI -Beliefs that Make You Fail... Or Succeed

https://youtu.be/9O7y7XEC66M -What Students Should Understand about How People Learn

https://youtu.be/1xeHh5DnCIw -Cognitive Principles for Optimizing Learning

https://youtu.be/E9GrOxhYZdQ -Putting the Principles into Practice

https://youtu.be/-QVRiMkdRsU -I Blew the Exam, Now What?

Some content targets 1st-year college students, but most of the content is generalizable to all levels.

    With best wishes,
