First came the open-ended questions, then the MCQs. And then, came the rubrics. Like a storm of assessments, with them arrived essays, reports, reflections, and even video and podcast assignments. But despite all the effort in crafting these elaborate rubrics, students still feel unfairly evaluated at best and utterly misunderstood at worst.

Having used rubrics extensively in small and large classrooms, we quickly realized that personal feedback was nearly impossible to provide for every student. But let's be honest, students don't see that as a valid excuse. Enter HAPP-the Harmonized Appraisal assessment method. It's not only faster than grading with rubrics, but it also brings back the lost art of personalized, developmental feedback, addressing one of the biggest limitations of rubrics.

Curious? Come join us on August 11 at 15:45 at AOM2024. Let's explore how HAPP can transform the way we assess and provide feedback!
