In response to the overturning of Roe v. Wade, several AOM members are collaborating on a letter to the Academy of Management requesting a formal statement against the ruling and that AoM not host annual conferences or chapter meetings in states where abortion is illegal or severely restricted.
We are trying to share this widely with AoM members in case you want to sign on. The link to the request can be found here. If you would like to add your name to the signatories, you can enter your information directly on the google doc.
If you feel it is appropriate, please share this with your networks. We recognize this is a sensitive topic and are trying to strike a balance between spreading the letter widely without posting it on public platforms (such as Twitter or LinkedIn), or making anyone uncomfortable because they have or have not chosen to sign (you can sign anonymously). The intent is to submit the request by the end of the day EST on Friday, July 15th.
