Dear Fellow MED Division Members:
Looking for an exciting "speed teaching" event at AOM Boston? Julie (JP) Palmer-Schuyler (Webster University) and I are organizing a PDW on teaching leadership and development.
TITLE: Can leadership be taught? Methods to advance leadership training and development within a semester.
Our goals are to share resources – original and secondary-in order to build a pool of collective resources to help us develop our students into future leaders.
We are especially interested in activities designed to build ethical leadership and leadership capabilities in diverse populations. We envision multiple round tables, each lead by an expert teacher who shares a teaching technique, experiential exercise, or other resources. Every 15 minutes participants will switch tables, permitting participants to learn from a number of different teachers and gain new activities they can apply in their own classroom.
To serve as a participant, please send:
- A brief paragraph describing your activity, experiential exercise, or technique, the time necessary to demonstrate it (no longer than 20 minutes for the demo) and what level student (e.g., undergraduate, graduate, executive) to which it is best suited.
- Your contact information: Your name
Organizational affiliation
Your email address
Your phone number
- A statement that you will present if this session is accepted and that you are not in violation of the rule of three related to PDWs. (Please note the PDW rule of three is separate from the rule of three on the regular conference program).
Please email this information to, Madeline Crocitto, by Saturday, January 12, 2019: crocittom@oldwestbury.edu.
