Dear colleagues,
The time has come again to submit your original research and Professional Development Institute (PDI) proposals for the 2025 Annual Meeting of the Southern Management Association.
This year, our annual meeting will take place from October 21 – October 25 in Greenville, SC. Our program chair, Paul Johnson, has put together a great call for papers that includes all the details that you can find here: SMA 2025 Call for Papers.
For 2025, I'll be acting as track chair for Track 5, focusing on research methods and innovative teaching. We're looking for submissions that include developing, refining, or critically evaluating qualitative and quantitative research methodologies, as well as teaching-focused submissions introducing innovative teaching approaches that demonstrably improve student learning outcomes in management education. We welcome any such works that push the boundaries of how we conduct research and educate future management professionals.
Reach out to me at ahanna3@unl.edu if you have any questions during the process-we're here to help! Once you've decided, you can find the submission portal here: SMA 2025 Submission Portal. Be sure to submit your research or PDI proposals by April 28, 2025, 11:59 PM EST.
If you're on the fence about SMA this year, be sure to consider all the great things we'll be offering this year, like:
· Doctoral and professional consortia designed to advance your academic and professional journey
· Interactive formats, including traditional presentations and roundtable discussions
· Methodology mastery via SMA's partnership with the Consortium for the Advancement of Research Methods and Analysis (CARMA)
· Networking that allows you to build new relationships and renew old friendships

ACT AS A REVIEWER
Help support SMA's program by signing up to review. This allows our community to thrive, and we will limit reviewer assignments to three manuscripts per track. Your insights make this conference possible!
VOLUNTEER YOUR TIME
Volunteers help to pull off our great annual meetings, and we really count on the generosity of our members to contribute their time. This year, my outstanding colleague, Lisa Brady, will be acting as volunteer coordinator and will be organizing all the efforts. Be sure to contact her at lisa.brady@southeastern.edu to get involved!
BECOME A SPONSOR
Boost your organization's visibility by partnering with SMA. If your department, school, college, or university has an interest in sponsorship with SMA, reach out to Sponsorship Chair, Frank Butler, at sponsorship@southernmanagement.org for more details.
ATTEND AND ENGAGE
Whether you're a longtime member or a first-time attendee, the SMA Annual Meeting promises to be both productive and rewarding. We hope to see you there!
