Hi Everyone.
As you may know, the deadline for submitting Professional Development Workshop (PDW) proposals for next year's Academy meeting in Atlanta, Georgia is fast approaching – November 10, 2005, to be precise. The meeting will be held from <u1:date month="8" day="11" year="2006">August 11-16, 2006</u1:date>, and this year's conference theme is "Knowledge, Action, and the Public Concern." For more information on the conference and general submission procedures, please check out http://meetings.aomonline.org/2006/
I hope you are considering proposing a PDW session, and I encourage you to consider the Management Education and Development (MED) division as either the main sponsor or a cosponsor of the session. There is a great deal of complementarity between the general purpose of the PDW sessions and MED's overarching mission, which creates many opportunities for cross-divisional collaboration. In addition, since education and development are often critical links between knowledge and action, teaching-oriented sessions, which are part of the mainstay of MED's program agenda, are particularly appropriate given the conference theme.
There are specific requirements for any proposals submitted to the MED division, so please either visit MED's website (http://aom.pace.edu/med/) or contact me directly (see address below) to get a copy of the MED proposal form. If you'd like to run a session idea by me before you complete your proposal, please feel free to email me or give me a call.
Thanks a bunch.
Courtney
