CALL FOR PAPERS
The Conference will be hosted by the
Industrial Statistics Research Unit (ISRU)
at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne
8th -10th September 2000
This three-day international conference will act as a showcase for
the latest know-how, methodologies and case studies in the area of
industrial statistics and resource optimisation. It will serve as a
forum for the exchange of successful ideas, providing companies with
ideas on ways of becoming far more competitive without having to
endure major capital outlay.
The conference will bring world -wide expertise to the NorthEast, to
pass on the combined wisdom of some of the 'Greats' to the Regions
manufacturers.

Supplier Institute Inc.
Soren Bisgaard, Institute of Technology Management,University of St.
Gallen, Switzerland.
Douglas C Montgomery, Professor of Engineering, Department of IMSE,

Papers
Contributed papers and posters are invited on any of the above, or
related, topics. We are particularly interested in industrial case
studies.
Contributors are initially requested to submit a 300 word abstract of
their paper to the Conference Organiser by 31st March 2000.
contributors will be advised of the acceptance of their abstract soon
after. It is envisaged that full papers will be no longer than 15
pages, although shorter papers will be welcome. Submission deadline
for the full paper is 31st May 2000.
All contributions will be refereed and it is hoped that accepted
papers will be published in a special edition of a refereed journal
via a major publisher.
