    Dear Colleague:

    I will appreciate it if you please distribute the following message to
    your colleagues who are involved in research or implementation of
    innovation and technology management with specific emphasis on the
    e-economy. Please excuse multiple postings.

    PICMET '01 (Portland International Conference on Management of
    Engineering and Technology) will be held in Portland, Oregon on
    July 29-August 2 ,2001. The theme of this conference on the 10th
    anniversary of PICMET is "Technology Management in the Knowledge Era:
    Life in the e-World"

    The conference will have about ten workshops,four plenary sessions,
    about 400 papers and 15-20 panel discussions. "Research Papers" and
    "Industry Applications" will cover a wide span of topics in technology
    management. Based on previous PICMETs, it is expected that the
    participants will represent more than 200 universities and 100
    industrial companies, research organizations and government agencies
    from 40-45 countries.

    Papers will be subjected to the peer review process, and will be
    published in a 2-volume proceedings: Volume-1 will be a book of
    summaries, Volume-2 will be a CD-ROM of full-length papers. In
    addition, there will be a book of select papers representing the field
    in 2001.

    Following are the submission deadlines:

    Sept. 1, 2000: 50-word abstract for initial evaluation.
    Nov. 1, 2000: Full manuscript (up to 30 pages) of Research Papers and
    either full manuscript OR copies of Power Point slides for Industry
    Applications for the review process. March 1, 2001: Final Research
    Paper and Industry Applications (OR final copies of the Industry
    Applications presentation)
