and lunch at a restaurant in Juarez, Mexico, plus a tour of a manufacturing
plant. Limited to first 30 registered sign ups. Contact

Seven Directions Point to the Future: Considering Climates of Respect Wed.
1 P.M. - 4 P.M.
· This participative workshop introduces a non-western model of circular
discourse. Seven Directions provides an approach to creating environments
that allow for building trust, working through conflict, and utilizing the
power of diversity. Seven Directions has been used as a teaching method in
universities, business and social service settings. Participants will be
introduced to the 7 directions model and practice an alternative model for
critical inquiry, develops and encourages trust, collective learning,
explores the cultural frame of respect, and alternative approaches to access
and inclusion. Contact Kaylynn TwoTrees

Transcendental Meditation Program Wed.1 P.M. - 4 P.M. with follow ups Fri,
Sat. and Sun.
· To enable teachers of OB to expand the boundaries of their awareness,
workshop and follow-up sessions provide experience and understanding of
unbounded potential of consciousness through a caourse of instruction in the
Transcendental Meditation technique. Course will provide OB teachers with
an effective practice for personal relaxation and stress reduction and an
educational experience, which opens their minds for deeper understanding of
spirituality in management. Theoretial understanding of human consciousness
together with the direct experience will be connected to topics of OB
including motivation, crativity, human relations, and organizational change.
The knowledge, experience, and scientific validation provided in this course
offer new possibilities for the development of our field. Contact, Dennis

Producing Organization Drama in the Classroom 10 A.M. - 4 P.M.
· Steven Taylor's session at last year's Academy of Management meeting was a
big hit. For this workshop, Steve will be casting for the dramatic reading
of his play Capitalist Pigs. The play will be performed (read- no memory
work is needed) at the conference on Thursday night. We need five people
willing to take roles in the play. All participants will work with Steven
to explore drama as a pedagogical tool. Contact
Taylorsj@bc.edu
Dreaming: The Journey into the Self, Wed. 1 P.M. - 4 P.M.
· An exploration of the relationship of the inner worlds of dream, fantasy,
and reverie to the outer world of our lives. Western society has discounted
the value of dream material for gaining insight into human lives. But dream
material does contain meaning, and the teaching of OB is enriched by
understanding how to build a bridge between the more objective world of
Applied Behavioral Science and the world provided by an individual's
subjective reality. The Journey Into the Self can be psychological,
spiritual or both, depending on the depth to which the individual wishes to
explore the experience. It is a tool for enlightenment, self-disclosure and
group cohesiveness. Contact Richard Rierdan
rrierdan@pepperdine.edu
Cloudcroft Trip includes breakfast, picnic lunch, and transportation. Sun 9
A.M. - 6 P.M.
· What is planned is a day trip picnic/cook out - that's bound to include
some New Mexico green chile! Everything else will be designed and
determined by the participants. The food will be ready about 1 o'clock, but
you're welcome to come and go any time during the day (optional - or even
the night before, sleep over - bring sleep bag, the night before or the
night after, but transport is then up to you). The drywall isn't up yet,
but it's insulated and warm with the wood-burning stove, and there's plenty
of floor space. Two-thirds of the decks are built, and even though there's
not railings yet, they provide mid-tree views of the forest. Bring a warm
jacket, though. Once the sun goes down it can get cold. Contact

Spiritual Mountain Walk includes continental breakfast, bag lunch, and
transport. Sunday 8:30 A.M. - Noon.
· This is a silent walk at Dripping Springs in the Organ Mountains. You
will have individual time on the walk for personal reflections, meditation,
spiritual practice and prayer. At Dripping Springs, there will be a
community meeting using the Quaker format of shared silence and speaking
from silence. There will also be storytelling, group conversations, and a
shared meal. The walk down the mountain can be alone, in pairs, or small
groups. Contact Dale Fitzgibbons

and Native American drumming, music, and dance. The workshop includes
drumming for stress reduction, lots of dancing, and how drumming is used in
the classroom. Contact
