The International Academy of Business Disciplines (IABD) is hosting its
13th Annual Meeting, April 5-8, 2001, in Orlando, Florida.
The Academy provides a unique international/interdisciplinary forum for
professionals and faculty in business schools, communications programs,
and other social science departments to discuss common interests.
Attendees
include scholars, corporate executives, and policy makers from many
countries expert in nearly 40 specialties. The general conference theme
involves "Managing in a Global Environment," with IABD also featuring
presentations and workshops devoted to other important topics in your
field as well.
In our call for papers, we welcome submissions (papers, panels,
workshops, works in progress) from practitioners as well as academics.
The best
work will appear in Business Research Yearbook, available at the
conference
and included in registration. There are opportunities to become more
active
in the IABD should you desire to. Members also get other benefits,
including subscription to the International Journal of Commerce of
Management (published twice a year).
The conference has a full day of papers, panels, and business meetings
beginning at 8:00 a.m. on Thursday, along with our welcoming reception.
Friday will have papers until 1 p.m., with the afternoon left free for
sightseeing and fellowship. The program will resume with another full
day on Saturday, along with our awards luncheon and keynote speaker.
There
may be additional sessions on Sunday morning, depending on the number
of
presenters. Many participants comment on the quality of their
interactions and the fact they actually get to talk to so many
interesting people.
More information is available on our web page at
www.iabd.org, so
please review the options there.
I personally would be happy to provide additional details and help
direct your proposal to the appropriate track chair or area
coordinator.
Cordially,
Richard Nelson
