    Announcement of Position Opening

    JUNIATA COLLEGE
    Huntingdon, PA 16652

    Assistant Professor of Information Technology

Juniata College is a private, co-educational, liberal arts college, highly
regarded for its academic excellence, with a strong commitment to
instructional technology and support. The recently endowed Information
Technology Department seeks a tenure-track assistant professor in
Information Technology for the Fall 2001 semester. The Information
Technology curriculum at Juniata College is interdisciplinary and includes
core courses from the areas of communication, business, and computer science
with an area of concentration in a field of the student's choice. The
growing IT department has a number of faculty members from these related
areas of the college who contribute to the offerings of the program.

We are looking for an excellent teacher who can teach in the core areas of
the IT program within a liberal arts setting. Such courses could include
Principles of IT, Computer Science I, and other courses relating to areas of
general and strategic management. At the center of the IT program is a
unique experiential three semester course sequence called "Innovations for
Industry" in which students are organized into small teams to work on
various IT projects from local industries. The successful candidate will
also participate in the oversight of some of these industry-based team
projects. The candidate should have interest in contributing to the general
education program of the college. A Ph.D. in an IT related field is
preferred, but not required. An MBA or MS plus experience in the IT field
    will be considered.

Additional information about the college and its facilities are available at
http://www.juniata.edu, and the IT department home page is found at
http://www.juniata.edu/it. Juniata is committed to gender and cultural
diversity and encourages applications from women and minorities.

Application review will begin December 1 and continue until the position is
filled. Send application, vita, evidence of teaching abilities, graduate
transcripts, and three letters of recommendation to Ms. Gail Leiby Ulrich,
Director of Human Resources, Juniata College, Huntingdon, PA 16652.
