POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT:
A new tenure track position in Entrepreneurship at Case Western Reserve
University's Weatherhead School of Management is now available. Candidates
must have a Ph.D. in business (or demonstrate a strong likelihood of
obtaining the doctorate by the Fall of 2002), a commitment to excellence in
the classroom, and strong promise of research productivity as evidenced by
publications in top journals and presentations at major conferences. The
Entrepreneurship area consists of five tenure-track and two in-residence
professors. You will teach undergraduate, MBA, and Ph.D. courses in both the
business school and in innovative multi-disciplinary programs like our award
winning programs in the sciences (e.g., Physics Entrepreneurship
http://pep.phys.cwru.edu/new/main.html) and in Technology Entrepreneurship.
Recent innovations include the establishment of a seed capital fund,
affiliations with leading Eastern European Universities, and programs aimed
at meeting the entrepreneurial needs of Cleveland's world-renown medical and
biotech communities. CWRU also operates four business incubators
(http://www.enterprise-development.org/) and recently established "Biopark"
in cooperation with University Hospitals and the Cleveland Clinic. While our
focus is on applicants who have a background in entrepreneurship, those who
have a research/teaching interest in technology/innovation management and
related fields are encouraged to apply.
Located in University Circle and adjacent to leading cultural institutions
like the Cleveland Orchestra and Cleveland Art Museum, Case Western Reserve
University (http://www.cwru.edu/) is one of the nation's top independent
research universities, with a $1.6 billion endowment, $200 million in

the Weatherhead School will mark the start of an exciting new era when it
moves into the acclaimed Peter B. Lewis Building, designed by Frank O. Gehry
(http://weatherhead.som.cwru.edu/ ). The Weatherhead School is convenient to
both downtown and highly attractive residential areas, and opportunities for
dual career couples are abundant. Salary and teaching load are competitive.
