    Streaming video in education at ALT-C at Edinburgh University (Sept 10-13th)

    Spaces are still available on our Pre-conference ALT workshop:

    Monday 10th September 1.30pm � 4.30pm
    Room WR G01, William Robertson Building, George Square, Edinburgh
    University

    This ALT workshop will take you through the stages of developing and
    delivering online presentations or �virtual lectures� combining digital
    video, PowerPoint slides and other web elements. The pros and cons of the
    various technologies will be discussed and you will be introduced to the
    template and resource set developed by the JISC/DNER �Click and Go Video�
    project. This workshop is designed as an introduction for beginners.

    The workshop will cover a range of topics including:

    � appropriate use of video clips

    � filming for digital conversion

    � digital formats

    � compression options

    � preparation of the PowerPoint framework

    � integration of media

    � synchronisation

    � server issues.
