The rapid advance in Internet technology offers enormous possibilities, in
enterprise integration and supply chain management. The dynamics of the
market place imposes stringent operational requirements on enterprises and
corresponding supply networks. Increasingly, manufacturers of goods and
providers of services need to organize operations very quickly in response
to both new demand and changes in firm customer orders. One possibility is
to manage operations dynamically across the Internet. Experience has shown
that a single enterprise is often unable to respond sufficiently to the
total gamut of customer requirements. The Internet, as a medium for
integration, offers a realistic possibility for rapid collaborative design,
manufacture, and delivery of products and services. Also, the supply
chains that service these enterprises must be agile enough to cope with the
changes triggered by reorganisation of the operations or as a result of new
demand requirements.
The potential of Internet-based enterprise integration and the allied
possibilities are the subjects of substantial amount of ongoing research
work across the globe. As such, this conference aims to elicit papers
devoted to state-of-the art research outcomes and latest thinking providing
significant insights and direction for further research and practice in
this area.
The suggested topics include, but are not limited to, the following:
Enterprise Classifications
-dynamic operations planning and control across the Internet
-intelligent software agents in integrated enterprise
-small- and medium-sized enterprises and e-commerce.
