I think one of the prominent trends in management and corporate education is
not in the subject matter of business but in the method of management. The
trend is about educating people not about what business trends are evident
or expected but regarding the methodology of spotting and anticipating
trends. One line of education deals with Patterns (c.f. Business Patterns
by Adrian Slywotzke, Mercer Consulting). Another deals with Modeling (c.f.
Systems Dynamics and the rapidly growing "industry" of software tools for
    management).

    Hope this helps.

I agree with Jack. One of the most demanded competency we're hearing about
is the ability to search out and use new information. And this is at all
    levels of management.
