We have just announced the latest addition to our test authoring &
administration software. It is C-Quest Echo, software for distance,
distributed, or published exams, tutorials, and assessment tests. Using the
data in the C-Quest db database, you may now create tests with a very
small footprint, which may be distributed via diskette, CD, or as an email
attachment. The recipient does not need to install any software, so they
may be run on any Windows system (the tests and programs are self-
contained). When the students complete the tests, they sends the response
files back to the instructor for inclusion in the student/test database. The
student may still receive the score and view the results at the end of the
test, if the instructor selects that option.
There is also a small file, a C-Quest Presentation with actual Sample Echo
Tests. This file may be downloaded or we can send you a copy through
email (300K) or on a diskette. The C-Quest db/Test demo is now a fully-
functional 30-day evaluation copy of the software.
During the summer (until August 8, 1997) we are offering a 20% discount on

Cogent Computing Corporation's C-Quest: Test Authoring and Administration
Software is an easy-to-use, yet flexible, tool for creating computerized
assessment tests, exams, quizzes or surveys. Tests may be administered
on computers in centralized learning centers, in a distributed environment
via diskette or email, or as interactive published tests. Responses are
automatically graded, recorded and made available for reporting, providing
an automated history of all testing within the organization.
* C-Quest db: This is the foundation software where question databases are
constructed. Within each database, questions may be assigned to as many
tests as desired, eliminating data repetition. New tests can be created in
minutes. This structure also provides the ability to generate randomly-
selected questions across several subject areas. Graphics may be included
with each question.
* C-Quest Test: Using tests created with C-Quest db, administer testing,
training, evaluation, surveying, screening at the computer. Response and
test data is stored and immediately available for reporting, statistics, or
export for use in other software.
* Distance testing is accomplished with C-Quest Echo. Using tests created
with C-Quest db, send tests via diskette or email. The student returns the
results file to the instructor for inclusion into the response database.
* With the Publisher version of C-Quest Echo, book or test publishers may
package and distribute their own interactive tests.
* C-Quest Web: Coming this fall -- Administer tests via the Web.
* The Budget Director: fiscal management of contract, grants, projects.
