Foreign Tenure-Track and Visiting Faculty Positions in Marketing
Korea University Business School (KUBS) is seeking qualified applicants for up to four tenure-track faculty positions as well as a visiting faculty position in all areas of marketing. The successful candidate's primary responsibilities are to teach marketing courses in the undergraduate, MBA, and Ph.D. programs and to conduct scholarly research. The tenure-track positions are initially for a three-year term with possibility of an extension for further years. The visiting position is for a minimum one-year term (preferably 2~3 years). The starting date of the appointment is March 1 or September 1, 2007.
JOB QUALIFICATION:
An earned Ph.D. in marketing or a related field with strong commitment to excellence in teaching is required. In addition, candidates for tenure-track positions should demonstrate an ability or potential for high quality scholarly research. In an effort to diversify our faculty members, we are particularly interested in non-Korean candidates who can teach marketing courses in English.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
The teaching responsibility is six credit hours (two courses) each semester. The courses to be taught include Principles of Marketing, Marketing Research, Consumer Behavior, Marketing Strategy and other marketing courses listed in our curriculum. All courses should be taught in English.
ABOUT THE UNIVERSITY AND THE SCHOOL
Korea University is located in Seoul, the capital city of Korea. Its beautiful campus is conveniently linked by Seoul metro subway system. KUBS, founded in 1905, is a leading business school in Korea and is accredited by AACSB. It currently has 64 full-time (tenure track or higher) faculty members, which is the largest among business schools in Korea, and is planning to expand to 100 within a few years. KUBS has approximately 2,500 undergraduate students, 800 students in MBA, 200 students in Maser of Science, and 100 Ph.D. students in all areas of business such as Accounting, Finance, International Business, Marketing, Management, MIS, and Logistics Services and Operation Management. The marketing area has currently 9 full-time faculty members and is planning to expand.
SALARY
- Tenure-track Positions: Varies with qualification; For candidates with strong qualifications we can offer salaries comparable to U.S.-based schools.
- Visiting Position: U.S. $ 50,000~80,000
- Non-salary compensation and benefits include a subsidized on-campus housing, one round-trip airfare per year, and medical benefits.
