Hi, everyone
Apologies for the cross-postings here. I'm normally a lurker on both
lists, but just had a quick question for list members. Is anyone aware of
any simulation software on the market that provides a virtual e-business
environment? I am hoping to run a simulation in which several dozen teams
will trade as their own "amazon.com" in the simulated environment, making
decisions on promotional spend, inventory levels, financial management, how
much to invest in website development, Net advertising strategy, channel
management, etc. I'm just using Amazon as an example - it could be any
e-business sector, really.
The simulation would be run on one of this University's servers, with teams
logging in using a unique identifier and lodging their decisions on
proformae which would reside on password-protected pages as part of the
Faculty of Business website.
The prospect of trying to develop this software from "scratch" is rather
scarey, so I'd appreciate any tips on suitable off-the-shelf products we
might be able to buy and modify (perhaps in partnership with the developer?).
Any comments suggestions gratefully received.
Many thanks
Brad Hanson
