A few weeks ago I posted an inquiry regarding the use of video in the
classroom. I received several great responses which I want to share with
others on the list.
1. For a copy of a JMI article titled, "Film as a Teaching Resource", by
Joseph E. Champoux at the Robert O. Anderson School of Management , go to:
asm.unm.edu, Courses' Data Files, Joseph E. Champoux, and folder "film." You
can download the Word documents for the latest on teaching with film.
(Appendix also available - email
NJHH@aol.com or Joe at Univ. site)
2. Movies to Manage By, John K. Clemens and Melora Wolff (focuses on nine
classic movies)
3. An excellent book for use in movie ministry is Sara Vaux's book: Finding
Meaning at the Movies. It has an appendix entitled, Leading a Film Study
Group. Another useful publication is Visual Parables, a monthly magazine.
4. A book that is out of print that has a good chapter on Work is, The
Screening of America: Movies and Values from Rocky to Rainman by Tom
O'Brien. In this chapter, they focus on 32 films.
Good stuff, thanks to those who contributed.
