Dear Colleagues,
You are cordially invited to the upcoming AOM PDW entitled “Leadership Lessons on the Dance Floor: From Metaphor to Practice”. The PDW will take place on Friday, August 7, 2015 between 4:15PM- 5:45PM at the Bill Reid Gallery in downtown Vancouver.
This professional development workshop focuses on how leaders and followers co-create a dance on and off the dance floor. In line with this focus, the PDW aims to carry the metaphor of dance beyond words and uses experiential exercises to illustrate the leader-follower connection through dance. Through simple movement exercises, the participants will examine the elements of leader- follower relationship through lessons from the dance experience. Furthermore, as leaders and followers do not exist in a vacuum on the dance floor, contextual elements in the dance will be examined and bridged to real life leadership examples. Thus, the participants will benefit from analyzing leadership concepts through a different lens. In addition they will be introduced to a fun and interactive teaching tool for management education and managerial development.
While a portion of the workshop includes simple dance and movement exercises, no previous dance experience or dance partner is required.
Pre-registration is kindly required for this workshop as there is a room capacity. To register online, please visit
