ELA 2017 is on the horizon! We are excited to put together a dynamic and experiential program focused on the art and craft of using experiential exercises in the management classroom.
Have a favorite experiential learning exercise? Or a very effective and engaging learning activity? Share your ideas and experiences with your peers -- submit an experiential learning activity by January 23, 2017. Three types of submissions are welcome:
§ Single Session Activities: An experiential learning activity that can be completed in 50 minutes or less, including debrief.
§ Multi-session Activities: An experiential learning activity, which occurs over multiple sessions, from more than one 50-minute class to an entire semester.
§ Professional Development Workshops: An interactive learning session for peers which focuses on designing, delivering, evaluating, publishing, or teaching with experiential learning activities.
Experiential learning submissions should be original or represent substantial modifications of existing exercises. Your submission should include the following:
· A description of the exercise, how it relates to the study of management, and how the exercise facilitates student learning.
· Instructions for presenting and debriefing the exercise
· A summary of student reaction
· How the exercise will be demonstrated during a 30 minute session at the ELA Conference
· A copy of the complete exercise and any handouts, materials or resources used in the exercise.
· References
PDW proposals should include a description of the interactive workshop, why the workshop would be of interest to ELA participants, and learning outcomes (1500 word maximum).
