    Are you teaching about cognition? Looking for new cognition-related teaching ideas?

     

    Join us for the 2nd annual Teaching in the Rough PDW sponsored by MOC and MED.

     

    Date: Saturday, August 6, 2-4pm

    Location: Hilton Anaheim in California B

    Program Session # 385

     

    You will rotate through four roundtables in which experienced instructors will demonstrate and/or explain a proven cognition-related exercise they have used to actively engage students and facilitate learning.

    The goal of this PDW is to allow you to learn about four classroom-tested ideas that you can use in your own classroom.

    You will be able to choose from among the following topics and facilitators:

     

    Cognition and Advocacy in Leader Decision-Making - Dave Hofmann, University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill

     

    Exploring Design Thinking to Generate New and Better Solutions - Jenny Gibb, University of Waikato (New Zealand) and Judy Matthews, Queensland University of Technology (Australia)

     

    Group Decision Making Biases - Sheli Sillito Walker, Brigham Young University

     

    Management Topic Expert Exercise - Tyler Burch, Idaho State University

     

    Multi-Stakeholder Negotiation: Albion Basin - McKenzie Rees, Notre Dame University

     

    People Analytics: Integrating data and analysis into the classroom to inform management decisions - Ethan Burris, University of Texas, Austin

     

    Reflective Thinking and Corporate Digital Transformations - Pernille Ryden, Technical University of Denmark

     

    Technology-Enhanced Learning Interventions through "Real-Time" Online Interactive Experiences - Kumaran Rajaram, Nanyang Technological University (India)

    Teaching in the Rough is part of the MOC Division's annual "In the Rough" series at the Academy of Management Conference, which includes:

    Cognition in the Rough – now in its 19th year, a workshop (by application only) that provides the opportunity to discuss and develop your research with senior scholars in an informal, collegial roundtable setting. Session #275.
