This PDW aims to examine the evolving tensions between academic researchers and consultants to establish a relation between both sides. Employing organizational change as a framework to understand the different approaches regarding content and method helps bring together researchers' theory and consultants' practice. The main line of reasoning steering consultants' views in opposite direction from that of academic researchers' is the dependability on theory and what is developed from it. So the standard practices exercised by consultants focus less on data assets and more on human assets with a body of knowledge. It is not a clear-cut evaluation of who is better at providing critical information, but rather what could be done to maximize the outcome with joined resources.

Pre-registration is required for this session.  Registration is free and is highly advisable so we can prepare the groups ahead of time. To register online, please visit https://secure.aom.org/PDWReg.

Looking forward to meeting all of you!

    Rida
