Nettiquette is big fat nonsense. How do we know if an information is
*not relevant or valuable to all the members of the list*? I would bet
that is exactly what most reply on any list are. Can any one of us use
or be interested in 100% of the info on any list even the best
    custom-tailored lists?

So,, a little patience and let the posts come to all (unless they are
definitely addressed to the interests of only one person). We will
decide what to do with them.

I have been through a discussion on another list about the value of
netiquette and the delicate attitude of some list netters who do not
want to be shocked, agressed, nor informed and entertained. The net is
not a salon for polite and meaningless discussions or trivial
information. At least that's what some of us believe it is not and we
are more interested in working with new and exciting ideas than
rehashing what everybody knows - or should know - in a field.=20

We would not attack the posting of factual information but we have
little patience with postings of run-of-the-mill interpretations of
those facts with most common theories as if they were the final say in
    the matter.=20

Now, Jean-Francois, a little lullaby, please.
Some people need to be gatekeepers and others don't. Humor them. Trying
to change them is futile. OBTW, others need to be rule makers. Maybe you
will recover. Others need to be pundits. And for that, I apologize in
    advance, and en masse.
