Michele and Laurie have given us some fat to chew on.
Perhaps an interesting way to look at this is to try to train students for
the second job they get out of school. I say this because one of my
former roommates is an accountant with a local firm. They hire hefty
numbers of new accountants for tax season.
Probably good news, eh?
Well, he refers to them as "green weenies" due to their lack of seasoning
and the whining that goes on about the extra hours required to do their
jobs. And this is not just in the area of tax but audit, too. You might
want to look at the first job as grunt work not glamour work. Cubicle
City not the Asphalt Jungle.
Possibly, you might want to bring back some recent graduates who can bring
some gritty realism into the expectations of those who are about to
graduate and join the work force.
