Just to clarify a bit ... while USA videotapes (which use the NTSC
standard) will not run on most European players (which use standards
like PAL and SECAM), there are at least two solutions beyond the
tape conversion one previously suggested:
1. order the videotape from the vendor in the standard you
require --- Hong Kong business schools have been buying PAL
standard videotapes from overseas vendors for many years.
2. make use of multi-system TVs and videos --- in Hong Kong,
the multi-system versions cost 20-40% more than comparable
single system (or standard) models, and I know that multi-system
video hardware is quite readily available in Singapore,
throughout Western Europe and the major cities in Eastern and
Northeastern Europe (e.g. Prague, Riga, Tallinn, Warsaw).
