I too have concerns about "buzz" words and eduspeak.
I think that buzz words can become sting words quickly.
By that I mean that workers get sick of certain
words "we" come up with. Don't blame them.
I believe in simple concepts with follow-thru instead.
I also believe that the cyclical newest, latest greatest
ideas without proper implementation further hurt
"out" cause.
Let's keep our ideas simple.
Let's go out into industry and business and find out
what the real world wants of "us." If nothing else
let's remember to do plenty of table top analyses
with real solutions to real problems. Too often
the answer is training.
I think management schools need to focus on solution-oriented
and less on the latest craze. Unfortunately, on and
off I have had "higher" education throughout
my life that seems to perpetuate itself in
by-gone expositions of buzz, unreal scenarios,
and half-baked theory.
Let's start getting *real* so that we can help industry and business
which if you listen to their workers is in mighty
big trouble! Where is our manufacturing base anymore?
We can no longer continue just selling amongst ourselves.
Hamburger economy indeed.
