    Dear Listers,

I recently joined the HR department of a large pharmaceutical company
where I will be heavily involved in Management Development. Being new to
the field I would like to get some help and advice from you.

In particular I am interested in answers to the following questions:
    1) what are "best practices" in Management Development?
    2) What companies (not necessarily pharmaceutical) are using them? Which
are the frontrunners in this field?

I will post a summary of all relies.

    Thanks for your help.

I am sorry, I tried to keep the private msg to <greuterTL-BW.CH>
off the list. It seems I couldn't figure out his address from the
    header.

    PS
    same for timnercnet.com

If someone could indicate why some list correspondents' address doesn't
show up completely (with @ and name part of address) in the header,
and how to write to them only I 'd be glad to learn Best Practises. <g>

MAYBE managers__ need to modify how lists are operated to make them
more consumer "friendly!" You aren't the only one doing this here
    or elsewhere!

That seems to be a fact of life with lists. The list manager can not
control the headers, as they are determined by the interaction between the
list management software *and* the e-mail software of the person sending a
message. Unless some standards are developed for all software related to
e-mail, the problem will never be solved.

The best way around it is to encourage people to use a signature file which
contains their name and e-mail address (or at least to sign messages with
that information) because you can not count on the fact that conact info
will always be retained in the header of a list message.

    Hope this helps,

    Ira

Which I did meanwhile. Reason to stick with Compuserve is ability to
send real binary 8 bit file attachments, and select mail to be private,
personal, confidential, or standard. In addition I can type en francaise,
    espagnol, schwyzerdutsch, etc.
Internet is so antique with its 7 bit characteristics and the chopping up
of 8 bit characters (standard) into two bytes of 7, it is unbelievable.
I guess it will change when phone companies are getting fed up with
transporting messages for free. After all, the 8 bit transmission
technology has been around for more than 10 years. If I increase precision
of this statement, internet transmission technology will look even worse.
Why did Noah send a dove messenger from his ark? He was fed up with the
    slowness of the internet. <g>
