When software doesn't do what I think it might / should do, then I am
real glad if someone can stop unintended behavior.
So it happened that I wanted to send a message just to a few people.
Now I would expect software to tell me what it will do, has done, and
when it couldn't, let me know what could not be done and whether the
remainder of the job was done or halted.
Not so when using Compuserve's (CIS) automatic mail software, which
logs on, sends / receives, logs off. In a perfect world where addresses
don't change, Cis might be a good program. Real world is different.
Message duplications happen.
If it wasn't for the good sysop and list manager, you might have
received duplicated messages. If you didn't thank the sysop etc.
He programmed a rejection for duplicates. It works great.
Thank you again.
