    Greetings!

I am teaching an upper-level undergraduate management course in the Fall
on Leadership and Motivation. There will be about 40 students; I plan to
make this a dynamic class with discussion (not straight lecture), case
    studies & a group project.

What texts/supplemental readings do you recommend? Seems to be a wide range
of both academic and popular material on these topics. I'd be interested to
hear war stories and preferences. Will post a summary to the list.

    Thanks in advance,

Wendy, I am using two trade books. One is The Leader's Companion by J.
Thomas Wren and Leadership Challenge by Kouzes and Posner.

May I suggest other two books ?
One it's more theoretical, Organisational Culture and Leadership by E.
Schein and one is more close to the practice, Moments of Truth by Ian Carlzon.

If you consider that this two ones "do not fit" I can suggest at least half
    a dozen of other titles.

    Best regards,

    Mihai Zsigmond

    Wendy

    I would recommend Gary Yukl's Book Leadership in Organizations (3rd);
Leaders on Leadership (from Harvard); Stewardship by Peter Block:

I suggest that you have them subscribe to a listserv where leadership is
the topic of discussion. However, you should warn your students that the
list is a little more sophisticated than a debate about Hitler, MLK, and
    JFK.

    Wendy,
One of the best is Herzberg on Motivation. Penton Press, 1990.
(Collection of Industry Week magazine articles).

The Empowered Manager by Peter Block - an excellent book on leading today.
