    I am delighted to announceInternational Journal of Training &
    Development. This new journal is in response to the expanding need for
    a high quality, global and comparative journal ranging freely across all
    aspects of research and practice in training and development.

    The journal encompasses both corporate and public policy analysis. Its
    content includes research and review articles, assessments and
    commentaries on performance improvement; competence; and the design;
    development, evaluation and delivery of training; national and corporate
    policies in training and development; and the reporting and discussion
    of emerging trends and issues.

    CALL FOR PAPERS FOR THE 1998 VOLUME OF THE INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL OF
    TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT

    The International Journal of Training and Development welcomes academic
    work which:

    * specifies and tests the explanatory variables which may be related to
    training
    * analyses training needs
    * investigates the need for performance improvement
    * researches appraisal and assessment
    * evaluates the analysis of competence

    Covers key policy and strategy issues:

    * organisational aspects of training and development
    * public policy issues
    * questions of infrastructure
    * issues relating to the training and development profession

    Benchmarks training and development practice:

    * the design, development and delivery of training
    * the learning and development process
    * competency-based approaches
    * evaluation: the relationship between training and individual,
    corporate and macroeconomic performance

    Notes for Contributors:
    Articles should be between 5000 and 9000 words length, typed on one side
    of A4 paper, double line spaced with margins. Four copies of articles
    are required. Authors are encouraged to submit their articles on disk.
