This past Saturday night, C-SPAN aired a program featuring Peter Drucker.
I am sure that many of you know that Drucker is considered one of the
most distinguished management theorists and business consultants of this
century.
After his presentation on the role of CEOs in the 21st century, Drucker
asked a couple of questions regarding training and consulting.
Paraphrased, they are:
Do you train your staff?
Do you use evaluations after the training session?
Do you use the evaluation to refine your training efforts?
This is stupid. You should evaluate the training after the trainees have
had a chance to apply the knowledge from this training session. Have them
evaluate the previous training session before their next training session.
