Fall is the time when many universities and organizations
begin their
recruiting efforts. The Academy of Management serves in a
pivotal role in
that process. Each Fall the Academy publishes a Placement
Roster that is
sent to the more than 10,000 Academy of Management members and
to business
deans in selected universities. The roster contains
information on
positions that are open in academia as well as management- and
research-oriented positions in industry. Information is also
included on
applicants
Recruiters have two options for listing positions. A quarter
page ad (5"
wide x 6" tall) costs $300. Copy should be camera ready, or
we can prepare
the copy for an additional $25. Recruiters might also choose
a smaller
classified-size ad for $40 per position. Applicants can list
for $25 for
Academy of Management members and $40 for nonmembers. Below
you will find
an applicant form and a position form that can be used for the
Academy's
Fall Placement Roster and World Wide Web listings. You may

To be included in the Fall printed roster, we must receive
your Placement
information by Sept. 15.
For those of you entering your information onto the Web, we
now have a
secure server so you can also charge your Placement
registration fee at the
same time as you enter your information. To ensure security,
please
carefully follow directions posted on the Web. If you feel
comfortable
doing so, you can also e-mail me your credit card number
(
csutton@business.auburn.edu). For those of you who need it,
the Academy's
Tax ID # is 23-7225811.
Please keep in mind that anyone who registered and
participated in the
Placement Service at the annual meeting in Boston will
automatically be
included in the Fall Roster unless you specifically notified
us otherwise.
You can edit your Placement information on the Web by using
the password
and file number sent to you by email when your Placement
information was
entered. Although you can edit your information as long as
the listing is
up, we will download the information from the Web on Sept. 20
to use in the
printed roster. The Fall listings will remain on the Web
until Feb. 1 when
they will be cleared in preparation for the Spring listings.
