I have been doing this for sometime and have developed an evolving
model for it that I think works rather well. If you would be interested in
reviewing it, please go to my website and review the syllabus for
BMGT2501, at
http://www.shu.edu/life/career/2501.html
AND I would be very interested in your comments and suggestions. The
assignment is the Project Team - Strategic Plan for Organizational
Change. Last Spring I added the option of doing their projects as a
website, and two teams chose that alternative. It is a semester long
project and you will also find there two samples of student teams work
from last spring semester.
AND I would also be very interested in suggestions of websites,
cd-roms, etc, that offer valuable material on some of the related course
topices which might be useful for students to use via hotlinks.
The syllabus is intended as a developing framework which will be
updated weekly, as new resources for assignments are added.
Students check the syllabus regularly to stay up on the newest links.
I hope this helps.
Thanks, Chris

Daniel Evans asked about having student teams analyze current and
future
competitive environments of companies.
If the local firms are selected, students might be able to get
information through visits and discussions at the companies. Sometimes
this leads to contacts for future jobs.
The Internet might be used to gather much industry and often
firm data. I require Internet updates on all cases discussed in
my courses.
