    for promoting understanding and analysis.

The Top 10 biological friends of business!

Understanding business in tomorrow's world will require both an
appreciation and a "fluency" regarding biological systems as we
integrate work, spirit, community and success.

    1. Virus is number 1!
Virus as a metaphor is extremely powerful as a replicator,
marketer, positioning agent and example in nature. Virus is not
    always destructive.

    2. Bacteria is a close second.
The adaptability of bacteria is unchallenged. Having access to
its history and its entire knowledge base is a key factor in
    adaptive survival.

    3. Fire Ants or Ants in General.
Job classifications are the norm but when the colony is
threatened, everyone drops what they're doing and becomes
    adaptive.

    4. Cats!
For there ability to land on their feet and their independence
juxtaposed against their ability to impress us with their loving
    nature.

    5. Eagles
The ability to soar, nuture, focus on the specific while
    remaining in the whole.

    6. The desert.
Adaptive, unrelenting, unforgiving, yet constantly reforming in
the presence of disturbances to protect its identity.

    7. WEEDS!
Prolific, efficient, appearing in the darnedest places. Requires
constant attention and has the ability to attract. What can we
learn from weeds that can be applied to organizations?

    8. Elephants
Patient strength, not good dancers...require attention at high
levels and perform amazingly under pressure.

    9. Monkeys
Monkey see, monkey do modeling. Ability to communicate in
non-verbal terms that is effective and adaptive.

    10. Last but not least--DINOSAURS!
    The symbol of non-adaptive behavior.
