    Dear Friends,

I am looking for an experienced executive coach to work with an American
manager in Hong Kong. The issue is interpersonal skills and management
"style." Can anyone offer any candidates?

    Thank you.

    Jane,

I am curious as to what you mean by management style. Although I have not
seen any robust research which provides evidence, my intution, supported by
confirmation from senior managers I work with, suggests that if the
learning organisation concept is to become the new organisational paradigm
then management styles should reflect ` leadership' rather than traditional
`control' orientations. This style should is not exclusive to CEOs and
other senior execs. but should permeate all levels.

Is this how your Hong kong-based manager sees the world in which he
    operates?

    Best wishes

Apropos of style, you might want to look at an instrument called STYLO -
the Operating Style Indicator. I use it a lot in exec ed. Programs and get
good results. For more info visit the STYLO site at http://www.stylo.com
