Does anyone know of a framework that combines management functions (i.e., planning, controlling, etc.) with the various taxonomies of managerial behaviors/roles/skills/knowledge (e.g., Yukl's, Kotter's, Mintzberg's, etc.). I am trying to put together an elementary yet comprehensive overview of the field of management in 12 pages or less and need an integrating mechanism to tie it all together.

    Thank you,

The real difficulty of this is that they are opposed - Mintzberg claimed
he could find no trace of managers actually doing what a lot of academics
theorized they were doing. So fitting together, no, these theories were
opposing each other. Look at Mintzberg's "The Nature of Managerial Work!"

You might be interested in the management wheel developed by R. Alec McKenzie

give you some ideas for creating the model you want.
