Thanks for your comments. I really wasn't sure how you folks would respond
to the learning dialogue examples that I sent.
I have worked this system by swapping disks ... they submit their weekly
writing on disk, I then reply within their own disk and return the disks to
them. I keep my own copies and make up the master feedback file as I read
their submissions.
I've also used paper, but I find that it's extremely time consuming to
respond on paper ...
And, if you don't respond within a reasonable amount of time, the learning
value is diminished.
So, maybe this is for the new technology.
Did you know, though, that you can use this system if the students simply
have access to an internet browser like netscape. They can email the
submission from netscape, then you've got their comments on your computer
in text, and you can reply within their text and print your reply to them.
