I have received an excellent proposal from Ruth Crawley
<
r.m.crawley@brighton.ac.uk> of the University of Brighton
(England) where she is a member of the Collaborative
Computing Research Group. She writes:
> In my research I'm interested in the requirements of different
> stakeholders in higher education where CSCL <Computer-Supported
> Collaborative Learning> applications are concerned. I
> propose a discussion on this investigating what constitutes a
> successful collaborative learning application in the eyes of: students,
> tutors <faculty>, HoDs <department heads?>, University Deans,
> regulatory bodies and maintenance and support providors.
I hereby designate the week beginning November 17th as CSCL
Week and request suggestions and volunteers for providing
presentations on this subject. What would be most useful would
be any descriptions of actual experiences in the use of CSCL
in management education/development.
Those with an interest might examine:

the CSCL Home Page:

Ruth Crawley has actually surveyed potential members of other discussion
lists about CSCL's opinions related to the acquisition and use of CSCL packages.
I invite her to post such a survey to the membership of Mg-Ed-Dv with the
hope that she will discuss its findings with us during CSCL week on Mg-Ed-Dv.
For an abstract of one Ruth's papers see:

I found a syllabus for "Designing for Computer Supported Cooperative
Learning (CSCL) and Networked Learner Support" interesting:
