Hello, Paul,
I found your proposal for a workshop on Critical Management in the
MD-ED-list and couldn't agree more with the need for such studies and
your reasoning why it is so important. (I will forward a letter to
you which describes my background).
I have tried for many years to tell participants of my seminars about
the paradigm shifts ahead of us and the necessity for management to
take a far broader view than just the "bottom line". I am convinced
that our current narrow focus on growth, globalisation and dominance
of business cannot be sustained much longer.
While there is ample of interesting material to support this view
(Peter Russell, Duan Elgin, David Korten etc.) we are lacking
practical approaches to bring new ideas to the "working manager".
There is a gap to be bridged and your proposal seems a good starting
point - i f I understand it correctly.
What can I do? I am not a member of the AoM and live to far away from
California (in Germany) to be able to attend a workshop. But I would
like to be listed and will contribute when I find an opportunity to
to so.
Regards
Roland Spinola
