POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT:
The University of Washington, Tacoma announces the availability of four
positions at the assistant professor level in Business Administration
beginning September 1998. Tenure track or non-tenure track positions are
available.
The Tacoma campus of the University of Washington offers interdisciplinary
upper division and graduate education to students from a wide variety of
ages and backgrounds in the South Puget Sound area. The non-residential
campus is located in new facilities in downtown Tacoma and is growing
steadily. Currently the Business Administration Program offers a
baccalaureate degree with emphases in management, marketing, accounting,
international studies, organizational leadership, and information
management.
To qualify, a candidate must have an earned doctorate in a
business-related field completed by the date of appointment. Candidates
must have demonstrated excellence in teaching, a strong record of
scholarship and the ability to contribute to the development of a rapidly
growing Business Administration program. Candidates who are able to teach
in two or more of the following areas are preferred:
Management Finance Accounting
Marketing Information Systems Management Science
Communication Strategy Statistics
Responsibilities include teaching in multiple areas, active scholarship,
service at the program and University level, curriculum development,
program development and collaboration with colleagues. Continuing
self-development in scholarship, teaching and service is required.
